Meet Sophie

Since we’re a relatively new team, you may know some of us but not others. Over the next few months, we’ll introduce you to each member of the Propel team. Meet graphic design intern Sophie Bergere.

Propel: Sophie, nice of you to join us.

SB: Don’t have much of a choice do I? Just kidding! I’m happy to be here and ready for some questions.

P: That’s the attitude! Okay, we’ll start with the general question we’ve been asking everyone else: what’s your favorite food?

SB: My favorite food? That’s hard, but I’m going to go with Sushi! If I could only eat one type of food for the rest of my life, it would definitely be sushi.

P: Sushi is respectable! We’ll keep that in mind next time the team is feeling hungry. We’ve definitely got a few sushi lovers around here. All right, next question: what’s the best movie you’ve seen in the past year?

SB: The best movie I’ve seen in the past year is definitely the live action Beauty and the Beast. Have you seen it? Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Josh Gad, Luke Evans, Ewan McGregor, Audra McDonald…what’s not to love? And the soundtrack is, of course, incredible.

P: So you’re a fan of Disney? That’s fine by us! Let’s move on to a more work-related question. How did you end up interning at Propel?

SB: Good question! I actually found my way here—and I’m glad I did—with help from the Graphic Design program at N.C. State. The hiring office sent me an email saying this might be a great internship for me!

P: Well, we’re glad they sent you that email! So what kind of experience do you have in graphic design?

SB: I’ve been studying graphic design for about four and half years now. I’ve actually had an internship in the past, and I’ve done a lot of freelance design as well. I love graphic design because I never get bored creating new things—there’s so much to do.

P: You say that now, but just wait a few years. Just kidding! See, we can joke too. What kinds of projects are you looking forward to?

SB: I’m definitely looking forward to doing more brand and logo design. Creating brands and logos is one of my favorite parts of graphic design and I’m excited to get some more experience with it. I love helping a client find a way to incorporate their values and mission into an image.

P: We have some good news for you—you’ll definitely get experience with brands and logos at Propel. We’re all about quality brands and logos. So, can you tell us what your dream job is?

SB: Honestly, I don’t know what my dream job is! I guess just a job I love that pays the bills?

P: How pragmatic of you! We like it. Can you tell us one thing everyone should know about graphic designers?

SB: We don’t draw pictures! Our jobs are way more complicated than that.

P: Noted! Graphic designers don’t sit around all day drawing pictures. Okay, last question: at Propel, we’re all about being a super power for our client. So what’s your super power?

SB: Easy. I can get along with just about anyone. I love meeting new people and making friends. I’m definitely a people person.
